Disabilities to Receive Full Digital Marketing Scholarships:
Charlie Collins, Ed Borowiec, Robbie Messerschmitt, and two other people with disabilities attend Internet Marketing Training Center’s distance education school in Virginia with full scholarships. The pilot program was developed by the school so that people with vision and mobility problems can not only learn from home but can also be hired to work from home, start their own business, or both. The school will also employ people with disabilities to help manage the program.
The school’s founder, Internet marketing expert Tom Antion, said, “I got the idea for this program after seeing disturbing statistics on people with disabilities.”
• Adults with physical / sensory disabilities have a 3.7 times higher incidence of depression than the general population.
• The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is the highest in the past seven years.
• People with disabilities are four times more likely to commit suicide
Furthermore, Antion found that correlation analysis studies showed that people with disabilities had significantly less self-awareness, self-esteem and greater social isolation than people without disabilities, as well as significantly less education, more child protection and less intimacy. . . lower participation in the workforce and lower wages.
Candidate Charlie Collins estimated juvenile macular degeneration and vision at 20/500, with 20/20 being the standard for perfect vision.
Ed Borowiec has diabetes and is at home with a broken left foot and has to use a walker.
Robbie Messerschmitt has three serious diseases, including ankylosing spondylitis, which affect the spine, pelvis, knees and shoulders. Osteoporosis, in which the bones become brittle, and arthritis, which causes painful inflammation and stiffness in the joints.
How does your day start? “It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. I’m stiff as a board. Sometimes my ankles or knees get stuck because they don’t always hold my weight.
The school evaluates the applications of two other people with disabilities to attend school.
Antion’s goal in this pilot program is to hire people who are suitable for their problems and subsequently introduce the program to many more people with physical disabilities.
