Soon, WhatsApp should add the ability to hide the last time from a specific contact. The messaging service plans to add a “Save personal contacts” option to privacy settings so users can enable the last view for specific contacts.
This is a much-needed feature as there are times when you don’t want to show some people when you were last online on WhatsApp. It’s important to note that if you don’t share your last view with anyone, you won’t be able to see when other people last saw it.
WaBetaInfo shared the screenshot of the new feature and also announced that it will be available for iOS and Android. The same option will also be available for “Profile picture” and “Information”. WhatsApp currently offers three privacy options under Last Open, Profile Photo, and Info.
The three options are “All”, “My contacts” and “None”. You will soon see another option which is “My contacts except”. These privacy options allow you to control who can see your most recent profile picture or personal information on WhatsApp.
Without privacy settings on WhatsApp, you can hide that you are online. WhatsApp only allows you to hide your blue favorites and the last seen in chats. The new WhatsApp privacy feature was detected in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS. This indicates that the feature will be available first for iOS and then for Android users.
