Digital Marketing team:
Turkey is in the oven and our Black Friday sales continue which means one thing.
It’s time to sit back and reflect on the past year.
It can be very easy to immerse yourself in the “work-work-work” mentality and lose sight of the beautiful marketing forest that surrounds us. But if there’s one thing that helps me redefine my perspective, it’s thinking about the things I’m grateful for.
So what would the DM team say if you asked what they are thankful for?
I asked the “office” to find out. And honestly, reading all the answers made me realize something …
This year has been difficult in many ways. Between the pandemic, the deadly wasps, the zoom calls, and everything 2020 have brought us, it can be very easy to be pessimistic this year. But it’s important to try and find something to be grateful for this holiday season, because yes, there really is a lot to be grateful for.
We are VERY grateful to be here at DM.
Sophia Lopez, Director of People and Culture:
‘I am grateful to be part of a team that puts kindness first and, if / when something goes wrong (because we are human), it brings the benefit of the doubt. It’s hard to find in the world, so it’s very special to be part of a company that lives this every day. “
Maya Hughley, Content Coordinator:
“This year I am especially grateful to our group DEI Out Loud, which offers much-needed space for expression, especially now that work and private life are so intertwined. My colleagues were so open and vulnerable and I feel like he has brought us closer now that we no longer work together in the office. “
Drew Rivera, social designer:
‘I am grateful to Digital Marketing and a corporate culture that embraces the diversity and differences of people. May the door to honest communication always be open and approached with such compassion. Not to mention the creativity and strength of everyone who works here, it encourages me to improve at work and grow as a professional. What a blessing it was to add my name to an already thriving business!
Becky Zieber, content strategist:
This year has given me a lot to be thankful for, even though it has been one of the hardest years to get through. I am very grateful for my health and that of my friends and family, and I am very happy to work here in DM, where I can work safely from home. But I’ve also participated in the growth initiatives and discussions on diversity, equality, and inclusion here, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this amazing group of people.
It has been an incredibly busy year and our internal GOD group has been working hard to have difficult conversations and to better understand each other and the issues around us. I am very grateful that the DEI group is a growing priority in DM, and I look forward to all the best ways to promote these ideals in the coming year. bring! “
Matt Douglas, product content manager:
It was a busy year for everyone, to say the least. And I am very grateful that many of my loved ones are safe and keep their jobs. In the last recession, I was unable to find a job in my region and now I work for a ‘full company. of intelligent, caring, and fun people who challenge me and help me grow.
I am very happy to be able to work from home and do my job with whatever happens. I know that this is not the case for millions of people in America and around the world. I sincerely hope that, when we overcome this crisis, we will be on the other side with the best and strongest for the challenges we have overcome.
Justina Fenberg, Marketing Coordinator:
‘I am very grateful to work in a company and to be among colleagues who appreciate mutual differences as strengths. There is so much beauty in this world and I remember it every day through the ideas and experiences of my colleagues. Collaborate, express our opinion, challenge, and open the opinion of others with an open mind and heart. It is not perfect, because none of us are and never will be. It is funny. It is worthwhile to be part of a group that is trying to improve and I am grateful for that.
Brandon Burkman, marketing manager:
Like everyone else, 2020 was a difficult year for me, personally and professionally. I managed to escape the first round of mass layoffs in March and April but ended up informing me that I was unemployed, as I run a company like DigitalMarketer that not only took an unknown employee out of his pocket but also helped him become a better marketer than I ever imagined I got in touch with, he was welcoming, friendly and absolutely fantastic. my work in a company can lead to my career and personal development. ‘
Sam Clark, content manager, eLearning:
I would like to thank our People and Culture team. It was probably a nightmare year for Claire and Sophia due to our unique situation. However, not a day goes by that I am grateful for all that they have done not only to put our health and family interests first but also to find ways to stay connected and keep our family and DM culture alive. Their work this year has been incredible and I believe that everyone in our company can appreciate their hard work and dedication, especially in 2020.
Jenna Snavely, production content manager:
I am grateful to be able to work from home safely and, at the same time, change people’s lives and businesses. Forever. In addition, virtual thanksgiving and cake (lots of cake).
Shannon Goodell, head of social media:
I am grateful to be part of a company that really cares about its people and is always willing to take the necessary steps to be safe and happy. The People and Culture team, led by Sophia, has always been fantastic, but this year has more than one present. They prioritized our security, organized incredible virtual events, donated boxes, and sent more. Their resourcefulness and empathy are truly unmatched. ‘
I am also grateful to be part of a team that is so flexible and can work twice as hard. We can wear a lot of hats and do our best with everything we find. Despite the incredible challenges, it was a rewarding year.
Kerry Hall, UX / UI Designer:
It’s been a difficult year and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my friends and working for a company that really cares. I thank you for this work and everything I learned last year.
